Laddu pethi is a very common road side dish. It is a snack common in our home town {Lahore (City), Pakistan (Country)}. Yesterday I was with my aunty. She is so nice and sweet, she makes yummy food. Snacks, and dishes like chatt, Pakora. She made Laddu pethi for us.

That was so yummy, nice and it’s recipe very simple.

Every one going to love this recipe.

Things that you need to make this Laddu pethi is always available in every Asian home.

For Making Laddu

Split Bengal Gram (Chana ki dal) 1kg. (Soak in Water for 2-3 Hours)
Salt 1 Table spoon
Gram Masala ½ Table spoon
Black Pepper ½ Table spoon
Sodium bicarbonate 1 pinch
Oil for frying
For Salad Onion, Cabbage, Lettuce, white radish

For Chutney    (Is a family of condiments associated with South Asian cuisine made from a highly variable mixture of spices, vegetables, or fruit)

Tamarind ½ cup, soaked in water
Sugar 1 Tablespoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon

Cook this all for 10-15 minutes, to get thick Chutney

For making special kind of Yogurt

Yogurt ½ kg
Mint leaves to taste
Salt to taste

Crush mint leaves and slat in mixer to make paste of it. Then, take 1 tea spoon and mix it in yogurt.

Now, cut the salad.

Put salad in one bowl, yogurt, and Chutney separately in bowls.


Now after 2-3 hours of Split Bengal Gram soaked in water. Process it in food processor to mash it and make thick paste. Add just very little amount of water when you are processing Split Bengal Gram in processor.

Mix salt, sodium bicarbonate, black pepper and Garam Masala in it and set in room temperature for half an hour.

Than make the dough of process material and fry it in fryer. At medium heat. Your Laddu pethi are cooked now.

Put hot Laddu pethi in serving plate. Put some Yogurt and tamarind Chutney over it, garnish it with salad. And start eating lovely snack for evening dish with some excellent drink for your choice.
